Appointed by Thurrock Council, LGH designed Gateway Community College, a new secondary school merging two local schools from Grays and Tilbury. Quickly recognised as a landmark project, the dramatic design provides outstanding facilities set around safe, centralised, external play space on a challenging site north of Tilbury. Initially for 1200 pupils, the design allows expansion to 1800. LGH also designed the Gateway Primary Free School to link with the secondary school and share core facilities.
